"Of course he is," she replied silently to Iris. "It is what started him on this little crisis of his, and when he went through his little black book looking for a date, he was either offered the boot or booty calls. But he is a very different person than his brother, and I am not certain he quite recognizes why that plays a factor here. However, I think he's genuinely interested in a change."
Aloud, Hera commented loud enough for the son of Styx to hear, "Of course he is going to put in the legwork. We are helping him, my darling rainbow, not doing it for him. And really, you've known him long enough to know he doesn't shy away from a difficult task. We simply need to help him set some goals."
As she finished speaking, Zelos drew near with the drinks. Hera simply reached up and plucked one off the tray. If anybody thought it odd that the Queen of the Gods was sitting on the floor, no one would gainsay her. Well, Zelos would not. Hera fully expected to hear something from Iris later, in private. But truthfully, she wanted to keep this casual, so that the boy would continue to be so forthright and honest in his conversation. It would make this so much easier. Especially when she laid out the plan.
"I think," she said after an appreciative sip of her martini, "that what Zelos needs is a demonstration of his intentions. After all, saying and doing are two very different things, aren't they?"
