"Sit down." The tone of voice left no doubt that it was not a request. Hera didn't even bother lifting her eyes to make certain he got the point. He wasn't stupid. Mildly drunk, perhaps, but not stupid. He would know the penalty for refusing her order.
Her hand shot out, taking the old fashioned glass away from him. "As I said, this is what men drink. And men drink, Zelos. They do not 'chug.' What an utterly repugnant word to accomplish such a foolish action. If the alcohol is so poor you must drink it quickly enough without tasting it to get any benefit from ingesting it, then you shouldn't be drinking it at all. This, however, is a cocktail that should be savored. Remember that next time."
While she spoke, she tipped the bottle to half fill the emptied glass. That task completed, she offered it back to him. "Since you cannot appreciate the finer things, then you'll have to drink it straight. Like a barbarian."
With that, Hera lifted the neck of the bottle to her own lips and took a drink directly from the container, as though daring him to comment. After swallowing the smooth rye whiskey as though it were nothing more than a refreshing sip of water, she said in even tones, "So it seems to me that your problem is a PR issue. Your reputation has become larger than you are. If you allow this to continue, it will subsume who you truly are, Zelos, and then you will become your reputation. You will lose what you want to be because of public perception. This is an area in which I have a great deal of experience. So if you are done pouting, and would care to ask for my help, I may be able to give you some assistance."
But only if he asked very nicely. After all, he had just tossed down her carefully crafted Sazerac as though it were a Jagerbomb. On the other hand, he'd beat the living shit out of Dionysus, which pleased her a great deal. So yes. If he asked nicely, Hera would not only assist him, she'd outright fix his problem.
