Re: Dealing With Ninkasi
She was staring down Nusku. It was a good question. The only person that she could recall ever openly defying Enlil had been her father during the flood, but he had tricked his way around it... Everyone kept saying how much she was like Enki... would she defy her uncle like him?
She almost spat at Nusku that she would. Ninkasi wanted to. She considered it. Maybe it, whatever punishment was doled out, would make the millinea of pain that was now coursing through her veins because it just all bubbled up from where it had been buried and covered up.... maybe it would make it all go away forever.
That was until she heard him talking to her.
It was almost as if she winced the way her brows came together. No. There was no defying Enlil now. “No one knew the things insulted me with. No one. I told no one. Millenia kept secrets.” Ninkasi's shoulders fell, arms handing loosely at her sides, but the overwhelming amount of adrenaline had her body shaking. “There were reasons for that. And anyone who may have... known by luck... no one was low enough to lob it into public forum,” only then did she dare look in at him the only pain she registered was emotional -nothing physical was felt from the high of the fight. “All because she got pissy over a photo.”
