Re: Containing the Kitty
Finally! Thor had finally let him go. Hermod wished people would stop thinking he was stupid about these things. He knew that Bast wasn’t the one everyone was worried about getting hurt. He knew how the desert gods were. Violent and deadly were some of the nicer things he had heard about them. Ninkasi would probably gone after him because Bast had drawn Kratos’ blood. He knew all that.
But, dammit, he had been worried about Bast. He loved her and he had to be there with her. It was his nature to protect those he loved. Even if there really hadn’t been anything he could have done. Okay, maybe Thor and his mother had been right to drag him out of the immediate danger. He just wished they could understand why he had needed to get back to the woman he loved.
He ran inside as soon as Thor had released him. It was total carnage; blood and organs were everywhere. He wanted to run back outside to tell his mother to stay outside. He did not want her to see this. It was so much worse then what had happened when they had bound Loki and had done what they had done to his sons. Hermod hated thinking about that. He was going to put the memory of this in the same place as that one. It made sleeping at night easier.
Bast was talking to someone else. It looked like her brother. Hermod had seen pictures of him at her place. He didn’t care if Anubis knew about them or not. He had to see how she was. He all but pushed Anubis out of the way.
“Baby, are you alright?” He hugged her tight, not stopping to think that she might still be a bit homicidal.
