Thor was relieved and pleased to find both his baby brother and his sister in the same spot. Though it looked like Frigg was about to take Hermod by the ear and drag him from the place. He’d be all for that, though he was pretty sure Hermod’s response might surprise Frigg. The kid had more gumption than most gave him credit for.
Didn’t matter, ‘cause either way, they were all getting out of there. He didn’t even pause in his stride when he reached them. He just tucked one under each arm and began heading for the door with the firm statement, “We’re getting outta here. Now.”
Behind him, he heard Bast scream, so he ventured a glance over his shoulder. It looked like Dionysus was throwing himself into the fight. Thor wasn’t all that sure that was good for anybody else involved. Though he knew that this fight was bad for everybody in the vicinity, and he knew that Ninkasi could take care of herself, he still couldn’t resist the protective urge that rose in him when it came to her well-being.
“Sister,” he called out over the crowd, in perfect Sumerian. “Watch your step. And your left. She favors the left.”
And with that, he continued hauling his family by blood out the door, while leaving the sister his heart had claimed to fight her own battle. Vaguely, he was aware that Enlil had arrived. Good, maybe he’d settle things down. Then again, maybe not. It was hard to read those in Kasi’s pantheon sometimes. They had a much more casual attitude toward mass violence than others he’d met. Either way, it was now a problem for those inside.
His own problem was keeping a grip on Hermod. The kid squirmed like a greased eel.
