"Ten bucks," Lottie announced, as she grabbed a chunk of bread to dip into the cheese-beer dip. "Ten bucks says that he grins first, then blushes bright red... and then says he has no idea what you're talking about because he doesn't remember, even though we all know he probably does."
Knowing it was a sucker bet that Ninkasi would hardly take her up on, Friendship opened her mouth and popped the warm bread covered in gooey cheese into her mouth.
And promptly spit it back out, sputtering, "Oh, ew, no, that was wrong, just wrong, no, icky." Lottie grabbed a napkin and gave her tongue a swipe to get the remainder of the clingy cheese dip off it. "Blaeach."
That done, she half stood from her sitting position to rearrange the pull-apart bread loaves so the one that was covered in cinnamon and icing was much, much further away than the one that was supposed to be dipped in the cheesy-beer dip. Though really, it was her own fault for not looking, since she was paying more attention to the conversation.
"Kinda always wanted one of those dresses," she murmured as an afterthought as she returned to her seat.
