"Coffee table. Definitely. And beer is awesome," Lottie replied as she began gathering edible items. "I'll trust you to pick whatever works best with what we've got to munch on."
For the next few minutes, she was quiet. Well, not really quiet, as chatter was her stock in trade. But all that was spoken were trivialities and small comments. Nothing of any real note, but Affection was simply physically incapable of silence.
Once they had the food arranged for easy access to both of them from where they sat on the living room furniture, before the topic of movies could be addressed, Lottie felt the need to clear the air.
"You know I wasn't kidding, right? When I said I love Thor? I really meant that. I adore him, actually. And I agree with you. He's not dumb, though he he often doesn't give himself enough credit. But I've seen him, I've spoken with him, I've hugged him. I know, Ninkasi. I know. Really. I was just warning you about the feeding him thing, because I wasn't kidding about that either. It was literally four years before he left for good, and only becaus ehe felt he needed to go fight in a war. And I mean literally literally, not the internet version of figuratively literally. He lived in my guest room even when I was away for months at a time."
Suddenly she leaned back and gave Ninkasi an incredulous look as what she said sunk in. Thor had lived at her place for several years. And he and the Sumerian were close. Like sibling type close. Huh. "How have we not met before again? Because really... we so should have. Met. Like eons ago. Who else do we share besides Thor?"
