When Lottie arrived at Ninkasi's place in Brisbane, she simply knocked then opened the door. She would have expected the Sumerian to make herself welcome in the same way were their positions reversed. Still, she called out cheerfully, "Hey, it's me. I'm here!"
Then she adjusted the shoulder strap of the canvas bag she was carrying as she stepped further into Ninkasi's home. Friendship did not believe in coming to a gathering empty-handed. And the invitation text had indicated munchies. So Lottie had brought a number of things, ranging from crunchy snacks to pastries and baked goods. She did want to make a good second impression.
"Something smells good!" she chirped. "Are you baking something? Because that would be beyond awesome. I mean, not just that you're baking something because then we can eat it, but because you're baking, and I love to bake, and we could bake together, wouldn't that be awesome? We could do like a whole cookie party thing, which is always fun, though really, we should make something that goes with beer, shouldn't we? I don't know if I actually have any cookies that would go with beer, though I could go through my recipe book, maybe like ginger snaps or something, hey do you have any cookie recipes that would work with beer?"
