Philotes tore through her closet, tossing things over her shoulder as she rejected them. "Nope. Nope. Definitely not. Oh, that's far too pink. No, not the orange, too bright. Ooo, this could w-- no, it's got sequins. And Hello Kitty."
As the black shirt with the glittery pink logo joined the rest of the growing pile of things she absolutely could not wear to this meeting, Lottie felt a growing sense of panic. Why didn't she have anything more grown up to wear? She was sure she'd bought something, recently, to visit somebody. Hadn't she? Because not only could she not wear the usual colors that appealed to her, out of respect for Styx's sensibilities, her sister had invited her to some frou-frou place that would really not appreciate it if she wore a Nerf Herders' tour t-shirt.
Finally, toward the back, she found a blouse in a rather subdued, warm grey. Black slacks, strappy heels, and a quick brush of her hair and she was on her way. She already knew she was late, she'd made Styx wait. Which might make her sister want to leave. Which couldn't happen! Styx almost never called her, and Lottie didn't want to disappoint her, but really, couldn't they have gone to Perkins or something?
No. Apparently they were going to meet in a wine bar. Friendship rolled her eyes, just to get it out of the way, before strolling across the street and into Monvinic. She should have rolled them twice, just for the pretentiousness of the place. Lottie really wasn't a wine bar girl, and definitely not this sort of wine bar.
But her face was pleasant, and her attitude polite as she asked one of the waitstaff about her sister. His softly rolled vowels and lisping consonants confirmed that she was indeed in Spain. Such a lovely sound, she'd always thought, as she made her way to the corner the young man had pointed out. Much more so than the Spanish she heard in Mexico.
A smile brightened her face as she spotted Styx. Despite their many, many, many differences, there was one inescapable fact that all of her sibling were more than aware of: she loved them all, deeply. So seeing her sister was always a joy. But today, especially, she was thrilled. And the reason for her happiness bubbled out of her mouth as soon as she drew near.
"You're wearing red," Lottie commented as she gave a hug so brief that nobody else would have called it that. Another concession she gave her sister. "You look fantastic in that color. You should try more jewel tones, I think."
