Ninkasi had been just weighing the pros and cons of a closet as big as a small bedroom in the master suite -like did she have enough clothes for such a thing to be necessary or functional ever, when the volume out in the main bar increased substantially. It wasn't even Meghan Trainor anymore. It was that weird.. Motown-esque Bruno Mars thing... Uptown Funk or whatever. There had been a hilarious karaoke night watching Loki and Bes get down to that.. and Hermes was probably in there too, but Kasi knew that boy was shifty sometimes.
Which meant if bouncer Marcus... tattooed and pierced Marcus... was being a dumbass to entertain the girls to Uptown Funk, it warranted watching in person. Her eyes scanned back up to the tv to check the surveillance camera and saw... Well, hell. She was going to have to rescue Kratos from her exuberant staff. At least he knew they were all good people deep down. But that meant she was done playing around with Zillow and Coldwell Banker for now. Ninkasi closed that browser window and pulled up a Reddit window in a few swift clicks, even navigating to her favorite subreddit – wtf – so she looked engaged in that, then pulled up her other more official work documents.
Grabbing her coffee and a twizzler from a package on the snack table she chuckled at the ruckus and headed straight toward it. Jean cut offs, tank top and loosely laced combat boots. She was there for comfort for long hours not style. Admittedly, she watched for a minute but he was adorable when flustered and like herself her girls were not at all shy.
But, enough was enough. “So, how's the progress going out here ladies?” She asked after clearing her throat. At which point the volume on the radio turned down and the girls backed off and turned back to where they were. Ninkasi shook her head, chuckled and clicked her tongue chidingly at the guys, “you know better than to encourage them.” To which point they laughed and turned back to work as well.
And she was just about to greet Kratos when one of the girls flung herself partly over the bar, “Sooo... Kasi... Marcus, he's got all the tattoos right? He looks about...”
“He looks married, Katie, he looks married,” the Sumerian sighed. “He's normally only here on weekends which is why you don't see him and the short Latina that brought the crock pot in here was his wife. Pretty sure she will cut you if you touch him. Nice try. Go back to work.” Then Ninkasi smiled properly at Kratos and said on an exhale, “my life has never been boring and I would have it no other way. Everyone is slap-happy already. But you here is a happy surprise.”
