“She is,” she replied and the tension in her shoulders released. Philotes was absolutely wonderful. “Though, sometimes I think of her more like the sister I don't have. I mean... I have a sister. But Peitho and I aren't really... on the same wavelength. We've never connected the way Lottie and I do.” Harmonia's gaze swept the area briefly, looking for her friend.
“Lottie was there through every milestone: my wedding, the lives of my children and grandchildren... their deaths. The only reason she wasn't there when I became a widow was the fault of bad-timing, not any failing of hers.” Ah, there she was. Harmonia couldn't help but smile. Lottie looked happy. She deserved to be happy.
Turning her eyes back to the tall woman beside her, Balance continued, “she's the reason I'm here now and not still hiding away somewhere. Because Lottie never gave up on me.” Smiling up at the woman, she added, “she's absolutely amazing.”
