Again, Seshat took the time to listen to all Styx had to say, the way it was said, and considered all the possible meanings. At length, she nodded, and she replied in benign tones, "You are correct, I do not know your character, beyond what has been recorded. Today was an attempt to rectify that.
"However," she continued in the same calm vein, her voice still pleasant and smooth, "I am forced to point out that you do not know my character either, beyond that I am curious. I have not asked you any personal questions today. I had already apologized for my previous gaffe, and promised to do my best not to repeat it. In fact, I curbed my comments which had nothing at all to do with you personally, but only with your architecture. Yet you felt the impetus to attempt to teach me better manners, when you know very, very little about me. Apparently, I am not the only one in need of guidance."
Seshat stood with a sigh. "My goal in coming today was to further my apology and attempt to get to know you better. If my intentions were misplaced and unwelcome, then I apologize, and I will leave you to your lovely home. I am not too prideful to admit when I am wrong. However, if you would like to get to know me better as well, perhaps we can try again, with neither of us acting like assholes."
