Today Styx was finally going to open the book she'd been meaning to crack the cover off for the past three weeks. Something kept getting in the way. Usually a distraction of some form or another but today she was determined it was going to happen. Her copy of Gone Girl was sitting in pristine quality next to her chair in the sitting room. All she had to do now was pour the wine that had been breathing, make herself comfortable and settle in for the day... and quite possibly the evening as well.
Maybe tomorrow and the day after.
Styx had just started to cross into the kitchen to fetch her wine when the knock on the door. Who could possibly be at her door? Most of her family would give some warning, or shout, or call ahead... or just walk in. With a heavy sigh, her path was diverted to the door, which she opened and immediately frowned.
My the Egyptian was tenacious, wasn't she? “I don't recall having ordered a disheveled rude Egyptian goddess on Amazon.” Styx cocked her head slightly and stuck one hand on her hip. “Did UPS drop you off? I heard they ding, dong, ditch these days but I never thought they delivered to the Underworld. Hrm.” Hate shook her head, not really sure what she was supposed to do with this, but took a good look at the woman's appearance.
Well, she was in one piece, at least. “Did Cerberus tear up this package I didn't order? That middle head is shifty.” She tsked her tongue against the back of her teeth. “What are you doing here?”
