Sigyn wanted to make a snappish comment about good people doing terrible things. It wasn't as if she didn't know that. She lived it. She'd almost done it with Hermod. That still didn't, and would never, excuse what was done to her children.
But Taweret was right about one thing: this was no way to honor Narvi. Her son deserved better than to be remembered in this way. He should be remembered for his life, and though she could blame others for giving her another memory to intrude upon that, it would be letting them win because they'd have taken something special away from her.
So she nodded. “Yes, of course. You're right.”
Then she sighed. “This conversation got much darker and deeper than I intended.” With small smile, Sigyn joked weakly, “At least for our first meeting. I thought I'd wait until our third or fourth meeting before breaking out such raw topics.”
