The kiss was too quick. It was almost a professional courtesy and Zeus was curious as to what was prompting this. No, they were never the sort to publicly fondle each other, but this was a far more private affair and they rarely saw each other of late. Something was not sitting well with him about it at all. Even so, he replied, “tenderloin, I believe.”
He escorted her to the table, ensuring Hera would be seated comfortable. “Beyond that I'm not certain. The kitchen staff has been feeling a bit more... experimental. I haven't minded as long as nothing vile comes out and there is no need for specifics to be requested.” Smiling, he added, “if they feel the need to broaden their horizons, I see no reason to stop them.”
Part of him was going to ask why she hadn't noticed, but that would come out accusatory and this was not that moment to instigate an argument. Not when he needed to get down to the point of the issue as to why she was evading him. “I assume you had agreed since I'd not heard any complaints.”
