Oh no. Which one of her siblings had Seshat run into? There were varying degrees of how badly that could have gone, depending on... Oh. Styx. So not as bad as it could have been. That particular sister was blunt to the point of insulting and she could be incredibly fierce about family, but she wasn't generally outright cruel. Not without a reason. At least, not in Lottie's estimation.
Though she wasn't really sure where to classify "autistic gerbil" in the insults category. That was a new one on her. She was saving it to use on Dolos some day.
"I'm not totally sure," she answered his question. "The last time I tried this, I was pretty wired, but I ended up meeting my boyfriend, so maybe that'll give me more luck this time. Let's go try to get something simple, and that will give me time to come up with an apology for my sister's manners."
Making her way to the counter, Philotes gave the barrista a bright, friendly smile and explained that they were visiting the area and not used to all the terminology. That seemed to do the trick as the girl launched into a detailed description of what each thing was, and asking what they liked and how it would apply to their order.
By the end of it, Lottie was almost certain they were getting large, plain coffees.
