Thoth could not help but smile. “You should tell Seshat this when you see her next. Not everyone is as appreciative of her,” he paused in speaking just enough to get into the shop and allow the door to close behind them. “I missed a lot of the details unfortunately, as I tend to do sometimes, but... she had an unfortunate run-in with your sister that did not go very well.” He shook his head but the smile did not fade.
He was aware that both he and his wife had different manners of interacting with people than most, but Seshat's was even a bit more different than his. It was how each of them learned and then applied the information later. He was far more of a mediator, though, which was a skill that not enough people had in terms of phrasing things.
“We are both quite fond of Kratos so you know she never would have wished to cause Styx offense. And while I find the insult amusing, I think Seshat was confused by being called an autistic gerbil.” In spite of himself, Thoth chuckled again. It was quite an interesting choice of words to use to insult someone without cussing.
He looked over at the complicated menu, then down at Philotes, “now, how do I order a normal coffee at one of these places?”
