She couldn't help herself. Lottie giggled, "You're terrible." A kiss was pressed to his cheek before she let him free of her hug. "Your wife is amazingly patient and deserves a medal for putting up with you."
Which she knew wasn't entirely true. Thoth's wife was just as smart as he was, so she probably encouraged his jokes and silliness because they were always intellectual jokes like that. Sometimes they went over Lottie's head, but she always laughed anyway, because even if she didn't get the jokes she did get the expression on Thoth's face and she couldn't help herself. She had to laugh because he'd just light up.
"Yes, I am a bit chilled. I was looking for some coffee, because I spent a day out in corn feilds watching people throw pumpkins with medieval weaponry, which was a lot of fun, but there's not a whole lot out in a cornfield when it comes to hot beverages, you know?" She looped her arm through his. "But what are you doing here? There was a lecture or something, right? Maybe one of those demonstrations that I wouldn't understand if I tried? How much did they get wrong?"
Because Lottie was convinced no matter how far the mortals came in their learning, they'd never really catch up with Thoth. Nobody probably would.
