Ninkasi didn't point out that a fair chunk of her other friends wouldn't have given other advice. In fact, Bast and her had deliberately tried to snap each other out of it by having sex with each other... and it didn't happen. Because Bast was having her own problems. Which was not her business to tell Lottie about, so her mouth stayed shut on it.
“I don't know if everyone gets scared,” she said in reply. “I'm sure there's are a number that are born for this.” There was a specific sect of gods she was referring to there. Well, and then those who turned to pretty much everything with a ferocity that it was going to be how they wanted it, or else. Much like her aunt. At least that was how Kasi remembered it.
But then she thought about something that Lottie had just said. The Greek had said she'd had a total meltdown on her boyfriend. About... this same subject? But... wasn't this whole thing a bit closer to her whole... thing? Not exactly on par, but closer than not?
Ninkasi turned her head to ask, “what happened? With your boyfriend... when you had your meltdown?” It was less a question needing to be nosy but a curiosity as to how someone else handled something similar. And then how that person's guy handled it... even though she had no idea who said guy was.
