Okay, the crying wasn't stopping. Thor added some back rubbing to the hugging, because the crying really needed to stop. He couldn't stand it when women cried. Or kids. Or most people, really. It was one of those things that he had no idea how to make better, despite a desperate desire to do so. And that it was somebody he cared about made it a thousand times worse.
"Who says you have to?" he rumbled softly in answer to her comment. "Not everything needs to be fixed, y'know. Sometimes, things are just going to change, for the good, for the bad, it's just 'un a' those things that's life. So maybe this isn't something that's gonna be fixed. Maybe it's just something that's gonna be. And why d'you think you gotta fix it? Maybe 'e's the 'un that's gotta do the fixing. Or maybe you're both gonna need some outside help to fix it. Right now, everything's all stirred up and how can you even see everything that's going on? You need to wait until it's settled, Kasi. And that ain't easy. Waiting can be 'un a' the hardest things ever to do. But that's better than making a mistake 'cause you can't see all the options. So wait. Breathe. Drink. Paint more if you gotta. But wait."
Again, he pressed a kiss to the top of her head, hoping that at least some of what he was saying helped. He didn't know if it would or not, but he had to try. Not for the first time in his life, Thor wished he were far more clever than he was. He was sure somebody smarter would know the right thing to say to Ninkasi. All he could do was try to offer some comfort and hope it worked.
"While you're waiting," he said, "I gotta question for you. Your rules... why are 'is siblings off limits?"
