Facing Fall [open]
Muttering under her breath regarding the disarray of the store she was in, Styx started fixing the hangers so that they all went the same way -even if that meant taking the garment off and turning it around. If they all didn't go the same way it was unappealing to look at. “Ma'am,” a store clerk said, “You don't need to face the racks.”
“Well, if you did it properly, I wouldn't have to. It is impossible to properly browse when everything is chaos.” To prove her point, she pulled a blouse down, one whose hanger was flipped backwards and snagged on the neck of the next blouse and pulling it off the hanger. Styx gave the clerk a glare. Alexander McQueen would be appalled by the status of his store. Or maybe not, he did design for Lady Gaga after all and that woman was willing to wear a dress made out of steaks. She shook her head and went back to fixing some hangers.
She was fussing. She was also obsessing and she knew it. This was rather due to her discomfort with being in Milan. It was such a high fashion area and Styx was not very high fashion at all. It was just convenient. She had been bored and when Styx was bored she cleaned, and organized, and made sure everything was level and even and precisely where it needed to be. But that only took so long since everything was mostly kept that way to begin with.
Which then had her actively searching for things do to. So, she went through her closets, all storage rooms and pretty much every inch of her home and boxed up things that she neither wore or cared about anymore. The boxes were then neatly organized in the living room, waiting for others to decide if they wanted to pick through them or someone to take up to the mortal plane and donate somewhere.
If Styx paid attention, she would realize that this was an annual cycle for her. While many did spring cleaning, she did it in the fall instead. Even if it was pointed out, she wouldn't really care. It was just cyclical. So, with a cleaned out closet, she needed to add to it again. Most females seemed to be drawn to shopping like moths to a flame, Hate however, preferred to not. She preferred to go to a location that had as much of what she chose to look at in one area -and with the world but a step in Concept away that left every option open to her. Convenience and efficiency, that was key.
Which was why she was in Milan. Styx hated Milan, moreso because of the looks she received from others and the uncomfortable worry that she'd run into an Olympian somewhere than her aversion to shopping. Milan was sort of what the hoity-toity big heads on Olympus preferred. However, there were few other places in the world where she could go through the ready-to-wear racks of Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and John Richmond, among others... all in the same day in the same city. It was efficient.
“You need to not hover,” she warned the same clerk that had not faced the store properly and now kept insisting that if Styx wanted to try something on, she'd be happy to assist in finding sizes and accessories. The expression on Hate's face as she thumbed the fabric of the black embroidered shirt she was currently looking at with interest clearly said she wanted to be left alone as she browsed.
Again the employee was approaching and Styx rolled her eyes and waved her hand, “Don't you have someone else to bother?”
