Lottie grinned as Harmonia nearly vibrated with excitement. It was so nice to know that she had a friend that would be so happy for her that she'd nearly bounce. Not that Philotes was immune to that state herself. Sometimes she was so excited and pleased for somebody else's good fortune, it was almost better than if it were happening to her. So it sort of tickled her to see her friend reacting that way.
When the squeal came, it was not unexpected then. Philotes had been anticipating it, bu it still made her squint one eye closed in reaction to the sharp, high-pitched noise. Oh dear. Was that how she sounded when she squealed that way? She made a mental note not to do that in anybody's ear next time. Wow.
Harm's words, though, didn't make her squint. They made her blink in surprise. “Weird? Why would that be weird? That we're dating brothers, you mean? Harmonia, I know you're not that naive. You know I've already had sex with your actual brothers.”
And her sister. And probably a good number of her cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The Greek pantheon was amazingly close-knit, all things considered, and it didn't take much to find a relationship between two deities. Truthfully, if she sat down and figured it out, Harmonia was granddaughter of Zeus, who was grandson of Gaia, who was sister to Khaos, who was Philotes' grandmother. Or something like that.
“This isn't weird,” Lottie assured her. “It's really good. Because you're happy, right? With Tyr? That's the important part, Harm, that you're happy. And that you eat, because your food is getting cold.”
