A Joyful Noise [tag: Philotes]
Upon returning to Philotes' mountain home after her date with Tyr, Harmonia melted. Quite literally it seemed. She had tip-toed through the house in the dark, not turning any lights on because she wanted to avoid waking Lottie if she was home and because she was still processing the evening in her mind and wasn't ready to answer questions.
There likely would be questions. That's what best friends did, they talked about each other's lives and helped make sense of them. And she had left Philotes a note about where she was going knowing full well she was going to have to talk about it eventually. Except Harmonia was severely lacking in the ability to talk about men without stuttering like a moron. This whole thing, the nerves and excitement and that really warm feeling in the pit of her stomach that made her feel happy all over... it was all new. She had no experience.
Oh, she'd had crushes when she was younger. Young girls often did. But this was different. This she was acting on. Her misplaced crush on Apollo, for example, when she had been much younger, never even got past the “hi” stage because not only had she no idea what to do then, she was worried it actually would have had something come of it and really, his track record was terrible. Harmonia had no desire to go insane, be turned into a plant or worse... get pegged off by his jealous twin.
So when she got to her room, flopped face first onto her bed and buried her face in the pillow so she could squeal with delight and not wake Lottie, Harmonia started to grow weak. Then she rolled over on her back and just stared into the blackness of the room, replaying everything in her mind over and over again. Every touch, every word... it all played back and she felt herself grow heavy. Heavy enough that it felt like she was melting through the bed altogether.
When she closed her eyes and remembered the kiss, her body went warm and melty and when she went to open her eyes... there were no eyes to open. She was no longer in corpus.
Well. This was new. She'd lost complete control over her corpus and melted back into Concept. Where no one could find her. Or least not without great difficulty.
Harmonia wasn't sure how long she stayed, but she made certain that she gathered herself together emotionally as much as possible before returning. When she finally reformed herself, in bed where she had disappeared, she fumbled around until she found her phone. Except when she tried to turn it on to see the date and time, nothing happened. Battery was dead.
Whoops. So, more than a day or two, then. Time passed very differently in Concept.
There might have been calls or messages she'd missed on the phone. People might be needlessly worrying about her whereabouts. Leaving it to charge, she decided she could no longer keep it all to herself and went out in search for her best friend. “Lottie?” She called as she left her room and moved about the house. “Lot, you in?”
She felt calm and refreshed in a way that only returning to her purest form could, but she really wanted to talk to Philotes. Harmonia was happy, genuinely happy, from her head to her toes and she wanted to share her happy with the one who had been there through every sadness with her. It was time she shared some of the happiness too. She was just going to have to try really hard not to squeal. “If you called for me and I didn't answer, I'm sorry...”
