The DATE (tag: Harmonia)
Tyr stood outside the CN Tower in the cold, waiting. He’d gotten there earlier than he needed to, but he didn’t want Harmonia to show up in a strange place and have to wait alone. Assuming she showed up at all. Which he had to assume she would, since she hadn’t backed out so far. Not even after he sent her a text asking her to meet him here. He’d given her a bit of a brief overview, perhaps too brief he had realized on reflection, but enough. He had advised Harmonia that they would be dining in a “fancy restaurant”, as he believed he had put it, the 360 Restaurant by name, and that she should bring a change of warm clothes for after.
Assuming they made it through dinner and there was an after.
To say he was nervous would be a colossal understatement- almost as colossal as the mistake he was still fairly sure he had made in inviting her in the first place. Whatever Vidar might say on the matter, Tyr was still not sure this was a good idea. But there was no denying how he had looked forward to the evening, even as he worried over it. He wanted to see her again.
Getting ready had been a comedy in itself. He’d tackled the question of clothing first, deciding eventually on a suit and tie for dinner, and a heavy sweater and jeans for later. The sweater was courtesy of Frigg, who seemed to have an unending supply of them each Yuletide season. Then there was the question of his hand...
Under any other circumstance, he wouldn’t have given it a second thought. But for this evening, wanting to cause Harmonia as little embarrassment as he could, he had gone through the gamut of possibilities. The hook would be nothing short of horrifying and off-putting no matter the usefulness. The prosthetic, while more attractive, served little more purpose than his own stump, but it did look better in low light, which he assumed the restaurant had. Not that he’d ever been there before to know. But it felt awkward and uncomfortable. Finally, he settled for going without. She already knew about it, and obviously felt no real discomfort regarding it, at least not that he’d noticed. The rest of them would just have to deal with it. He was who he was. Besides, his suit coats were all tailored to hang the proper length on his right arm, so they weren’t hanging irritatingly off the end.
Fortunately, he had enough neckties hanging in his closet already knotted that the chore wasn’t as difficult to manage as it could have been, especially with Zosime’s help. While he had never desired servants, the one he had gained from Enyo’s temple was proving herself invaluable. She straightened his tie and lapels and sent him off with a smile. She didn’t talk much, but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, either. Did she know what he was up to this evening? He wouldn’t have been a bit surprised.
Tyr stamped his feet, an old trick to warm them (dress shoes were not particularly sensible, no matter how they might look with a suit), and continued to look around. He did not want to miss Harmonia’s arrival and leave her wandering to find him. Nervously, he glanced at his watch and realized it was nearly time to expect her.
