“Oh I'd never use it myself,” Nyx informed her husband. “The thing is ridiculous. But you know how he's been since we got him that nose hair trimmer for his birthday a few years ago. I thought Geras would enjoy a new toy. He can be so dour when he's not amused.”
Once again, it was simply a matter of looking out for her children, one small thing at a time. Keeping Styx from becoming too rigid, preventing Geras from becoming a curmudgeon, trying to teach Momos tact. There was quite a long list, because there were quite a few children. But really, if she didn't have all of them to look after, she feared she might be a tad bored. At this point it had become routine, and to no longer have it would leave a bit of a hole.
Of course, it might give her time to shop more. There was always that.
Though she was given a reminder of why she didn't already do more of that when Erebos offered to set up her newest purchase for her. She distinctly remembered giving him the excuse that she'd needed the box to hold things from the pantry while she rearranged, insinuating that it was empty. Obviously he hadn't bought that one bit. Which meant he'd been humoring her. Rather than being upset by that fact, Nyx was touched. Her darling husband had been playing along for her sake, and it was a sign to her of just how deep his love ran. What an amazing god she'd married.
However, it did still leave her with the problem of how to keep the product that she'd bought. If only he could see how wonderful it was, if he could see it in action, he'd want to keep it too. Nyx was certain of it. So she'd have to get it set up and find a way to use it in front of him, casually, as though it was no big deal. That wouldn't work if he was standing there, watching with a critical eye as she removed it from the box. No, she'd need a distraction.
“Oh, I don't think tools will be necessary,” she smiled at him. “Though maybe we should use them to put in another elevator. That was a bit of a jog down here, wasn't it?” Nyx fanned herself slightly. “I think I got a little too warm.”
And with that, she unbuttoned the top three buttons on her blouse, knowing exactly what Erebos would be looking at. And it would not be the box on the counter top.
