Re: Isis & Thoth, open
“You did what you could,” Thoth assured as they walked through the crowd. “We are limited as to how far we can extend the hand before someone has to reach out to grab it. As well meaning as Sigyn may be, and perhaps even her husband is, they are not exactly -historically speaking alone, on the most steady of terms with the rest of their pantheon. Frigg and Odin may not want the proverbial olive branch extended to them.” Though, as much as Thoth said that, he knew Odin would appreciate any help offered to find and secure his son safely back into their care. Isis would too, but she would understand the politics involved.
She just needed a friendly nudge to assure her that what she was doing was right. The politics involved put them in a very precarious position. Thoth was not, by any means a leader in their pantheon and he didn't want to be. He preferred to sit on the sidelines and be able to offer advice when it was requested. “Politics,” he sighed. “But in your position, you cannot be seen meddling in the affairs of another monarchs' without their request.”
Thoth took a sip from his glass and shrugged. “Perhaps make yourself known to them. Extend a branch of condolence. At an affair such as this, gossip tends to spread like wildfire. But console... Then the ball is in their court.” Isis would do with his counsel as she saw fit, but he often offered it to her without even her having to ask these days. “Sigyn appears the logical and pragmatic sort, I'm sure she understands your position.”
