Re: Iris, Zephyrus, and open
Immediately and completely on instinct, Iris smiled. She looked down at the flower, which had been obviously pilfered from some of Ninkasi's décor, and knew the second her eyes saw the hand that held it who was doing the holding a solid second before he said anything. Iris would never forget that hand, either of his hands really. Not with all the history she had with them. But, she couldn't show just how overjoyed she was to see him, she had to play the irritated wife.
So, Iris screwed her face up into a scowl, plucked the flower from his hand and then turned around slowly to face her wayward husband. His absence was completely forgiven and he needed not even ask for forgiveness for any reason other than the fact that he had left with intention and vanished. It was proper to offer apology. Flower in hand, she placed that on her hip and sipped from the martini in her other, eyes looking over the rim at him as she sipped.
Lowering the glass, the Rainbow blinked slowly in mock frustration and faked a sigh. “And what, praytell, am I to do with this?” She asked and held up the flower between them. “Press it in a book to look back on like some lovelorn teenager?” She was only teasing him. After their adventure in the Museum of Modern Art, she hadn't seen much of him.
A moment later her ruse broke and a telltale mischievous smile formed on her lips. “We live far too long for that to be practical. Here,” she said and lifted her hand to his ear and tucked the stem behind it. “There, that is much better. You look just darling.” Iris had a playful side, something that few saw, but she wasn't really mad at Zephyrus and Hypnos had amused her out of her irritation if she had been in it before. All was well.
