Re: Loki, Hermod, Sigyn, Vidar, and Open
Sigyn wanted to take issue with Hermod's assertion that they'd tried to stop the mob that day. She had been there. She didn't recall anyone standing up that day, and she'd had centuries to do nothing but remember. Before she could say anything though, another person inserted themselves into the group.
Sigyn shook her head, watching as Eris kissed yet another person at the party. Was she kissing everyone? And yet again, she seemed overtaken by emotion at the kiss. What was going on with her? Why was she so lovesick? Had she been like that with Loki too? If so, hair was getting pulled and faces were getting punched. Sigyn couldn't do much about her husband's wanderings, but she could definitely discourage other women from wanting to continue the association.
But once again, after Eris' kissing and declaration of adoration, she ran off. Leaving those left standing there not only angry and tense, but confused as well. It did nothing to help the situation. She really couldn't blame the other god, whoever he was, from leaving. She wouldn't want to stay either, except she didn't have much of a choice. At least she'd felt the tension ease out of Loki's body where she was pressed up against him. Any small boon in this situation was welcome.
Though she certainly wasn't expecting the one she got next. Sigyn had taken a breath in preparation to urge Hermod to go find something to drink, or eat, or anything to give his mouth something to do other than flap in the wind. But she didn't get a chance to say anything before Vidar was between them, silently urging his brother to leave. And then he was the one that spoke.
Sigyn gave him a level look, remembering their last meeting very clearly. “We are all under a great deal of pressure. Whether any of you believe it or not, we want to see Bragi home, safe and sound, with Idun.” Then she softened slightly to add, “He is not with Hel. Loki checked to be certain. He is still alive. We just need to find him. That will happen sooner if we all work together.”
Then she very deliberately turned her back to the brothers, the one moving away and the one still standing there, to look her husband in the eye. Not caring if either of them heard or not, she told Loki, “I spoke with Isis, the Egyptian queen. She and Thoth will let us know if they hear anything from their quarter.”
