Re: Hel, Persephone, and Open
Hel laughed lightly at the phrasing Seph used regarding her appearance. "Not half bad is good enough, I suppose." She knew Hades' wife didn't mean any ill by the comment, and had probably attempted to word it delicately. Among the Greeks, at least the Underworlders, she had learned such concerns were irrelevant.
She vaguely and briefly considered that even Phobetor had shown no concern beyond her own discomfort that night in the bar when things began to reveal themselves. It was a passing thought; one that didn't linger.
"I saw Hades...there he is." Hel pointed toward where he and Than were now flanked by Tyr and a blond goddess she was unfamiliar with. "I keep wanting to go say 'Hi', but he seems to always be with someone else." Those "someones" being others she had no interest at all in interacting with.
"We could go together, when Tyr moves away, if you want." Hel's eyes twinkled with conspiratorial mirth. "What can your mother say if you are escorting a friend over to greet her other friend?" She followed the suggestion with a wink.
Why did it seem like all too often they were worrying about what others would think of their actions? Weren't they adults? Weren't they goddesses for that matter?
"At least you will be able to join him again soon." Hel knew the cycles by now, and knew the calendar was swiftly rolling around to the time when Persephone would once again join her husband for the few short months they got each year.
For herself, she couldn't help but think a few months with anyone, even if it meant leaving for the rest of the year, had to be better than being alone all the time.
"We could make our way passed the bar, and just, you know, sort of end up going in that direction?"
