Re: Frigg, Odin, Hera, Zeus & open to anyone wandering in
Hera listened to what Odin and Frigg had to say, and more importantly, to what they left out. They'd checked everywhere they knew to check, which was apparent in their willingness to ask Zeus and herself for their help. But more than that, Hera suspected that they thought a Greek had been the one to take their precious misplaced son. It was there in the way Odin mentioned that another deity must have done it. Oh, he tried to make it sound as though he was worried about the well-being of all, but that wasn't what he meant. Hera was very good at reading between the lines.
And fairly adept at reading faces, so she had an idea that Frigg was sucking on that straw like some cheap nymph was being done on purpose. Barbarian trollop. Not only was she crass, she managed to undo the smoke screen her husband had tried to lay down with just a phrase. Odin was contending that it was possible that whoever had taken Bragi was a threat to others, which implied some sort of underlying plot. Then Frigg turned around and said it was a crime of passion, which would mean no planning at all. Which was it?
Did it really matter? Either way, Hera got the impression that they thought the perpetrator would be found within her pantheon. That explained why they were so willing to ask for help from her and her husband; any other problem that cropped up they would have fought tooth and nail to keep Greeks from getting involved, because they were so certain they were smarter than pantheons that were older and wiser. Children, all of the Nords were children.
“We will certainly do that,” she assured Frigg. And she would. If Hera found out any information, she'd be glad to pass it along. But she would make the northerners pay for it, one way or another. “I hate to think of a wife missing her husband, so of course, we'll be happy to help.”
Hera gave Zeus a speaking glance, one that said she was more than ready to move on, and gently touched his arm. “We should speak to others, to see what we can find out.” It was said as though she was being solicitous, but truthfully she was just eager to leave Frigg's presence. And she actually did want to find out what was going on with this missing son. For her own curiosity if nothing more.
