He could not believe that Loki was just trying to wave him off. Like he had any say in what Hermod could or couldn’t do. Loki had no control over him. He sure didn’t have the right. Hermod was looking for his brother and the Trickster was an obvious suspect.
Hermod slapped the hand Loki had held up. “Don’t tell me what to do. I have a legitimate reason to question you about Bragi. He goes missing when you go free.” Odin had cleared Loki from any wrong doing in the kidnapping, but Hermod just could not trust him. Loki’s very nature made that impossible. No matter what his father thought.
“The way I see it, you have a habit of making my brothers disappear. The last time the couldn’t come back.” He had trouble looking at Loki without thinking about Balder and Hod. He hated to think that Bragi might be sharing their fate. He didn’t think he could handle losing another brother.
“Are you jealous of us or something? Jealous that our family was together? Did Dad spend more time with me and my brothers than with you?” The messenger really did want to know. What had made Loki do what he did that got his brothers killed?
