She knew he was back. She always knew when he came back to the mountain. Honestly, she did not think he tried to hide it from her. He was cocky enough that he probably let everyone know where he was. He must love to rub it in his father’s face.
Aphrodite waited to see how long it would take him to get to her temple this time. He had that annoying habit of dragging his feet when it came to seeing her. It was all part of the little games he liked to play. It was how he tried to prove that he didn’t love her. As if he could fool her. The silly god thought he could deceive Love. She just let him have his delusions. It made him happy.
This time was a little different from his usual returns to the Mountain. She just want to see him, she needed to see him. He didn’t know that their daughter was back. She would have gotten word to him if his idiot sister had been more cooperative. Why couldn’t war gods be more pleasant?
Just because she had something to tell him did not mean she was going to let him win the game so easily. Ares’ head was big enough already. She put on something sheer and sexy and slowly walked out. She saw him casually sitting on one of her benches. Damn, he did look good. That smile was enough to get her excited. Seeing him after one of their long breaks always made her… It was just good that he was back.
She would get him naked soon enough.
“Ares, darling,” she said, going up to him and lightly kissing his cheek. “So good to see you. And you brought me a rose. You are just as romantic as ever.”
