I'm All Ears (tag: Hermod)
If there was one thing Hermes wasn't, it was a social misfit. Another thing he could never be accused of was a disdain for idle gossip. Hermes loved talking and he loved listening, and he enjoyed it even more if the topic was about someone else. He and Iris had spent countless hours over the years discussing the lives of others. As Messengers to the Highest of the Highs on Olympus, Hermes found it easy to justify. Always good to know what was what when talking with Zeus, and he was sure Iris also appreciated a head's up on events that sometimes flew under the radar in her dealings with Hera.
Unfortunately, nothing much was going on in their world. Hermes had heard whispers of a new interest for Phobetor, but nothing concrete as of yet. He didn't even know who the interest was, so he was currently going under the assumption that it either wasn't serious, or that he would find out eventually anyway. It had also reached his ear that Harmonia was back, and he was a little disappointed he'd not heard from her yet. Considering he was the one that informed so very long ago of her ill-fated marriage, maybe it wasn't such a surprise.
Aside from that, things were actually almost downright dull.
Hermes was considering all this as he looked around the quiet bar. He'd chosen this particular club because they were one of the few that didn't play the music so loud it made one's ears bleed, and because it would be a little more comfortable than a quaint tea shop. He didn't think the Norse were into that sort of scene, and his intended guest even less so. This was the sort of place one could drink and talk, without requiring extra social graces. He'd save the tea and coffee for Iris. Or maybe a nice wine bar. She'd like that. Assuming he found out anything of interest. Far be it for him to keep all the juicy news to himself.
Hey, Hermod! Got some time for an old friend? Drinks are on me.
Hermod and Hermes went way back. It was to be expected in their line of work- both messengers for the rulers of their respective pantheons. And messengers ALWAYS knew what was going on.
