A Matter of Love and War [tag: Aphrodite]
Ares was not in. Lately, he was never in. But that came as no surprise to Enyo. At least not usually. Her brother came and went as it suited him -such was the nature of war. She knew, she understood. She worked in much the same way. They were like two peas in a pod -she and her older brother. So, simply, his absence didn't worry her. What started to worry Violence was the expanse of time at which he was gone.
No bother, he would return when it suited him and it was best she make sure that when he did return his animals were all in order and cared for. Sure, Ares had attendants, but she was just as likely to find one gored in his temple as she was to find that they'd gone untended to out of fear of the animals.
Personally, Enyo hated animals. She didn't keep any herself, didn't want any and didn't want to be near them. But they belonged to Ares so that made them, by proxy, in her interest to keep well cared for. At least the animals obeyed him, unlike his rather substandard offspring with that blond trollop. But that was another issue for another day. Thankfully, Violence hadn't been exposed to those wretched erotes or their strumpet of a mother in quite a span of time. And chief brat was still safely enclosed in Hades' realm, as far as she knew, so that wasn't lingering around and forcing Ares into showing his rather dreadful softer and weaker side.
The other two war brats, the only two useful ones, had been curiously absent lately, but Enyo didn't put much thought into it. Instead, she opened the door to leave Ares' temple -her impetuous self always letting herself in and out of her brother's temple as it suited her, and instantly a frown fixed itself upon her face.
“You,” she said in a low growl setting her eyes upon the goddess she loathed above all others.
Under normal circumstances, Enyo would have just evaded the space Aphrodite occupied -giving the love goddess a wide berth and just avoiding crossing paths with her. The less temptation she had to lob off her head, the better. Violence wasn't always certain she'd have the right frame of mind present to not act on those temptations. It was a mighty good thing for Love that Violence wasn't heavily armed at present.
