"Whatever else happens," she turned to face the toad this time, "I will not restore him unless he agrees to your conditions. He is in no position to negotiate. And I want him to promise to leave Zeus and Olympus alone," she responded coldly. "I wanted to ensure that the anger of Greece didn't fall on all our heads. If he goes back on that, and Zeus catches wind of it, he will not hesitate to exact his own punishment. Fortunately, my old friend knows that it would be Set's own doing, and not yours, nor Egypt's."
She sighed softly. "Beyond that, I am not sure what else we can do. The Gods would not have allowed for us to destroy him, nor would they be content if we chose to leave him in this condition." She knew her son was not pleased with her intercedence on Set's behalf, but she knew there really was no alternative. Surely, he could see that?
"I thought it best we handle this quietly and quickly, before the others catch wind of it and demand I restore him before you have a chance to take advantage of the situation." There was no way Set was getting out of that box with the same power he had when he landed there. Not if she could possibly find a way to avoid it. The time had come for the piper to be paid, as the saying went.
"You have waited long for this opportunity. Is there nothing you would want of him, now that you have the chance?"
