Information (Isis/Bes log)
Sigyn was well settled in at the villa, and seemed to be making plans. Apparently her first step was going to be to talk with Dionysus, and as she headed out the door, Isis knew that was her cue to go speak to Bes.
Her heart was heavy with pity and worry for her Norse friends. While Loki might not actually be a friend, he had gone a long way toward convincing Isis that she could trust him. And it was obvious how much they cared for each other. So she wasn't just going to sit around and wait for answers. While it was unlikely Bes knew anything, if he was on alert it was one more person on the search for the missing Trickster, and one more person to help protect Sigyn if the need arose. For now, she was going to assume her husband was the sole target and Bes deserved to know. She appeared before his modest temple, smiling at the simplicity that was Bes and Tauret's lifestyle, something she had often been jealous of. This was one truly happy couple, she thought to herself as she knocked.
Bes hurried to answer the door, as much as someone of his stature could actually "hurry". He always liked company, and was glad Loki was out of the temple at the moment, and that he'd cleaned up after him. Tauret was being very kind about the whole thing, but Loki, in his current frame of mind, was not the neatest of people. It was okay with Bes, he understood, but he didn't want his wife to come home to a mess of dirty socks and Cheetos remains. They also didn't need anyone knowing where his pal was staying. While he knew he could trust his Egyptian friends, word could leak, and that could be bad. Very bad.
He was surprised to see the Queen. It wasn't often that Isis paid him a visit. "Hey there, pretty lady! C'mon in," he held the door wide for her. She sidestepped the dwarf and headed straight for his sitting area. "How are you, Bes?"
"Good, good. It's great to see you. I assume you still drink wine?" He shut the door, then followed her with a muffled chuckle. Isis could make herself at home anywhere, he swore. While her position might command respect, it was her personality that made people give it willingly.
"I do, but I fear this isn't a social call, much as we really do need to catch up. I take it Tauret is not in?" she queried as she took a seat.
Well, that was puzzling and made Bes just a little leery. Had word somehow reached her, and was she against the Trickster's presence? If so, he was prepared to fight for his friend's right to be there. "Oh? Uh, no, Tauret's out at the moment. Does this concern her?"
"No, it's not about Tauret. I am afraid I have some bad news that I thought you would like to know." Isis waited until he was settled before she continued. "I'm not sure there really is a delicate way to say this, so I'll come to the point. I don't know if you are aware, but I am close friends with Sigyn, Loki's wife. She came to me the other day, quite upset. It seems he is missing, and from the looks of their home, he was taken by force."
Uh oh. Bes's frown was natural, regardless of his reason to look that way. Isis naturally assumed it was concern for his friend, but she was only half right. This was bad news, but not in the way Isis thought. So the traitorous bitch had high friends, it seemed. Much as he wanted to warn his old friend that her own so-called friend was not to be trusted, that would mean he would have to let on that he knew about it, and he wasn't sure that was such a good idea. "What, kidnapped? Are you sure?" He was stalling, putting on an act that was already leading toward deceiving his former Queen and friend. It could well be that Sigyn was toying with Isis, trying to find out where Loki was hiding.
"Sigyn said their home was in shambles, and I have never seen her so worried and upset. He would have sent word to her were it anything else."
Bes was quite sure the bitch had appeared worried and upset. Their plan had failed, and Loki was on the run. Bes kept his expression one of concern as he replied. "So, she's in Egypt, then? Maybe I should talk to her." Bes was already starting to hate this. Pretending for Loki's sake was all well and good, but he and Isis went too far back for it not to bother him.
"No, no. She came to me in my villa in France. I've insisted she stay there, until we know that she is safe from harm. Whoever came after Loki may make an attempt to harm her, as well. I assume it is some of his Norse enemies, though goodness knows he has made enough of them elsewhere, I'm sure."
Bes let out a sigh, one he hoped Isis would take for concern, but it was really in relief. If Sigyn was in Egypt, that would be bad. Very bad. Loki would have had to find another safe house, and Bes didn't know if he had many other options. "Hmmm...I was hoping to get some more info. Maybe something she forgot to mention to you. So she has no idea who may have done this? I take it you are talkin' about their Alaska home?"
"Yes, and from what I understood, not many know its location. I think if we are to find him, we need to first figure out who did it. This won't be easy."
Bes knew who did it, alright. Loki had told him everyone that was involved. "Right. So, how do we go 'bout that? I don't know any of the others from his pantheon."
Isis shook her head, a frown creasing her brow. "I wish I knew. But I wanted you to know, as I know you are close." She hadn't noticed Bes' reaction as anything other than what she would have expected. The dwarf fought demons, after all, so panic and overreacting was not a part of his nature. "The more of us looking for him, the better chances we have for finding him. But be careful- while I don't think Odin is involved, we don't want an inter-pantheon incident coming out of this."
"Yup, I can see that." Inter-pantheon, huh? With him buds with Loki, and his bitch of a wife friends with one of the highest members of their own pantheon and the mother of Horus, it was already becoming an incident. She just didn't know to what extent.
Isis got up to leave. "I'm sorry to make this so short, but until I know for sure she's safe, I don't want to be away from the villa too much. Let us know if you find anything out, and I'll keep you posted as well." As Bes rose, she waved him away. "It's alright, I can see myself out. Give my love to Tauret. When this is all settled down, we really do have to get together."
"'Kay. Just do me a favor...be careful." Sigyn couldn't be trusted, and while his mind screamed out to tell her the truth, he didn't actually think Isis had anything to fear from her. Loki, on the other hand, had everything to fear and the most need to be kept safe, so he held his tongue. "I mean...well, if someone would come for her, ya' know? It could come from anywhere."
Isis smiled at Bes, warmed as always by his concern and friendship. Old friends were really the best of friends, and too easily taken for granted. "I will, but I really think, and hope, that we are safely out of the way. Poor Loki. I do hope we can find him before...well, before it's too late." The thought brought a knot of fear to the pit of her stomach. Considering what happened the last time he was captured, it was unlikely they would take any more chances with him breaking free. With a sigh, she said goodbye to her old friend and departed, stepping briefly into Concept to arrive back at her villa.
For his part, Bes sat thinking for a good long time. Isis was not the type to be taken in by treachery. She'd learned her lesson all too well when Set did what he did. This Sigyn must be very, very clever. More importantly, she was still looking for his pal. It seemed he and Loki were soon to have a very long chat.
