[info]dhorrible_mod: Sloppy Seconds Penance Day: BONUS FIC

As you had guessed, our last piece of fic and art did go up and technically we ended the fest. However, because I failed to gracefully close the fest before the end of the academic year caught me up and spirited me away, I shall contribute this one last fic as penance for my sins... and then formally close the fest. :)

[info]dhorrible_mod: Sloppy Seconds Day 5: Broken Toys

Title: Broken Toys
Author: pretty_panther
Pairing: Severus Snape/Sirius Black
Rating: R
Prompt: Prompt: They come to an arrangement during the war -- Sirius wants information on his brother, Snape wants Sirius to keep Lily safe.
Content Information/Warnings: 1090, no warnings really apply.
Summary: Severus has information and Sirius needs it and it is as simple as that. At least it is to begin with.
Author's Notes: The fic is more from the point of view of Sirius because I felt Severus' behaviour could be understood better when it was seen by another and his words came across better without his thoughts to explain them.

Title: Look at me
Artist: [temporarily disillusioned]
Beta Viewer: [temporarily disillusioned]
Pairing: Severus Snape/Lily Evans
Rating: R
(Highlight to View) Warning(s): OOC, nudity, violence, blood, character death.
Prompt Author: [info]pale_moonlite
Prompt/Summary: 73: Snape has created a Lily automaton. To animate it, he has to sacrifice a part of his soul (think along the lines of Horcrux production).
Also took inspiration in prompts 41 (Lily dies, and that last shred of humanity in him dies with her) and 24 (While seeking a teaching position at Hogwarts, Voldemort boasts to Dumbledore that he has "experimented" and "pushed the boundaries of magic" (HBP). Severus is also obsessed with pushing the boundaries of knowledge. Show us some of his own (morally reprehensible) experiments, his blinding ambition, his glee at creating the new, no matter the consequences, even his sense of belonging with the Death Eaters for providing him this opportunity).
Notes: I realize canon Snape would never murder Lily's son on any grounds, so please take it not as committed act but only as a vision of midnight temptation.

Pairing: Harry Potter(+Severus Snape)/Ginny Weasley
Rating: R
(Highlight to View) Warnings: oblique mention of non-consensual but unforced sex and of sex under false pretenses; past use of a glamourie potion; mentioned mind potion shenanigans.

Prompt: 10: Severus tells an (almost?) unforgivable lie in order to get laid.
Summary: "PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard."
Notes: This is my best attempt to convey the image that struck me as soon as I read this prompt. I only wish I could draw better. The actual image is courtesy of lots of pulp novel covers and googling for 'mirrors'.

Prompt: 33: Post-war, EWE. Hermione Granger is investigating something. And then she bumps into Severus Snape, who offers his help. But is he really helping her, or is he making sure that she *doesn't* find the answers she is looking for? Ambiguous, sneaky, slippery Snape. Optional Trappings: Bonus points if Snape remains ambigious to the end. Even so, I would prefer a happy/hopeful ending for some value of happy/hopeful.
Summary: In the end, it is up to you to decide who is worth the suffering.
Notes: A very special thanks to [info]kerravonsen for suggesting a prompt that drove my Muse wild. I may have played with the prompt a bit, but I hope it still exceeds your expectations!

Title: Romance of the Age
Author: [temporarily disillusioned]
Beta Reader(s): [temporarily disillusioned]
Word Count: approximately 23K
Pairing(s): one-sided Regulus/Snape, one-sided everyone/Lily, Lucius/Narcissa
Rating: R
(Highlight to View) Warning(s): Canonical character deaths. This has a very high body count. Also, racism and references to abortion..
Prompt Author: [info]o_mayari
Prompt: 113: Sirius describes Voldemort’s rise as “Terror everywhere… panic… confusion...” Write a Snape who is not at all terrified, and who in fact thoroughly enjoys these interesting times.
Summary: The rise of Severus Snape, who was born miserable and low, and had nowhere to go, really, but up.
Notes: This owes themes, motifs, and entire lines to Evelyn Waugh's Vile Bodies. The "hostage" line is straight from Nancy Mitford's Love in a Cold Climate. "The male" is taken from the real-life Mitfords, as is the notion of all the Blacks having ridiculous nicknames. Granfalloon is from Vonnegut.
