Gabriel had yet to understand just what they truly were, but he couldn't help but enjoy the fact that he had two of the most coveted treasures in vampire lore. Thanatos witches. Matriarchs all over Inora scrambled to acquire and show off these beautiful trinkets and here he was with a matched pair. Not only were they of the Thanatos breed; they were sisters. If only he could actually say he owned them. Of course, Nex put no pride in weak status symbols. That was all the ownership of these two women amounted to anyway. A feeble attempt to say he was better than all the rest. He was no better than any vampire who collected humans for show as that was what he did. He collected all his Sins in order to satisfy his own need for a show and that show was the fall of the aristocracy. If his family could be ruined by the scum that called themselves royalty than he would find a way to break them down into noting but bits and pieces. Now, it was time to see if this little witch could be tamed as her sister had. Of course, he'd had to do very little work with the first sister. She had already been quite trained by her mistress. This one was wild and full of reckless abandon. She fought for survival rather than show, though in Inora the two seemed to go hand in hand anymore. The only trouble now was trying to make sure that this one trusted him as her sister did. He had hoped that her sister's devotion to him would make it all easier, but there was no way of knowing if this would be true. Instead, she prepared himself for whatever might be necessary in order to make her understand his point of view. He was ultimately prepared to sacrifice one of his own in order to make sure that everything went along as smooth as silk. She had practically refused his dresses, but Nex understood that this one wasn't the kind to take such pretty things and be happy. Pandora had only wanted to be free to live the life she already lived. Alekto, on the other hand, he wasn't sure about. What did she want? Did she want freedom to choose her battles or did she only want to return to the ring that she'd been removed from? It seemed as if he was going into this half-blind. The grigori headed for the area that had been given to her to make her own and knocked quietly on the door. He hadn't seen her about, but he'd heard her movements and had his servants keep tabs on her. He'd kept his distance from her in order to help keep her at ease. He needed to make himself known to her now. Otherwise, he'd lose his chance. |
