Gale wore a heavy assault rifle strapped to his back, and carried with him the thick scent of blood, rain and gun powder. Despite the air of violence around him, he seemed almost serene in the way his unnaturally green eyes regarded the leaf. Or at the very least, unbothered by his situation.
Which, of course, was not in the least bit true.
The leaf just proved to be a momentary distraction. It fascinated him, the way it resembled the thin, flightless 'wings' that draped along his other body and he wondered if there was any meaning to it.
He knew the large man was approaching long before he had arrived. He could hardly call himself a soldier if he hadn't, but still he did nothing even as the blond came to a halt close by. Finally, after a long moment, he simply lifted his head and turned his eyes towards the stranger's.
