Pride! (Nic) @ 07:19 pm

Pride had to be Mickey's favorite time of the year. It always made her happy to see the entire LGBT community out, loving and supporting one another, and being proud of who they were, and unashamed. And with the recent ruling of the Supreme Court, the mood was especially elated. Mickey attended NYC Pride with Nic even before they got together, and every year since they'd been together since. They marched in the parade, and always went to as many post-parade parties as they possibly could.
This year, they were being recognized for not only being two out and proud LGBT members of the superhero community, but for everything that they as advocates for LGBT rights. Mickey and Nic did everything that they could to help LGBT teens, having both gone through coming out in their teenage years. They organized rallies for equality, done interviews for Out Magazine, and supported several charities to help raise awareness against bullying. They were riding up front with the grand marshals, and Mickey couldn't be more excited.
The parade was going wonderfully, and she was enjoying herself, and having the best time she'd ever at Pride.
And then, her girlfriend surprised her by asking a question in the midst of all of celebrating.
Mickey paused. She thought she heard her right, but it was very loud. She blinked. Once. Twice. Three times.
"Repeat that again," she said. "I think I need to hear that again."
