Sirius threaded his thumbs in his belt loops, a gesture he often did when stressed, nervous, or feeling awkward. He hated the fact that he had run out on James, but he also hated the fact his family had been used against him. What good had the past six years been if not to separate himself from his family? He wasn't even ever going back to his father's home! For Sirius, his family was a touchy subject. If the general public made a remark, he didn't particularly care. If one of his cousin's said something, Sirius was able to bat it aside. But when James said something? It was a touch harder for Sirius to swallow, simply because he'd invested so much trust in James. Was reconnecting with Regulus such a bad thing? And what of Andromeda? She was an outcast now too.
"For now it's just going to sit in Gringott's. I donno if that lock mum put on it will change now that I've officially left and been blasted off the tapestry. I reckon she won't tell them any different, and make me suffer until I come of age. Not too long though, just... eight months away." Sirius gave James a casual grin, a grin he'd shared with the boy so many times before. Maybe everything would be fine between them. "It's just weird, since I'd hardly spoken to him. And y'know, with everything that's happening."
Taking a few steps forwards, Sirius rested his side on the end bedpost. His eyes searched James, though Sirius had no idea what he had been doing. "So this army," Sirius began. No matter what happened, Sirius's outlook would be the same - slaughtering of muggles and muggleborns was wrong, and he wanted to stop it. "What are you guys doing?" Sirius did what he could to keep the interest and excitement out of his voice, but it was exciting. Dumbledore asking a bunch of students for help? How much better did that get!?
