Who: Eli and Lily When: October 13, shortly after dinner Where: Great Hall What: Birthday! Rating: Low
Eli was impatient for dinner to be over. He sat at the Hufflepuff table, as always, but he kept stealing glances across to Gryffindor. It wasn't as if he thought Lily would be completely shocked or overjoyed at what he had planned because it wasn't anything fancy or expensive, but then again, her reaction to the dragonfly had been more than he expected. He was glad of that; if he could make her happy today then it would make up to him the completely devastating birthday he'd had this year.
Once the Great Hall had sifted down to just a few handfuls of dawdling students, Eli pushed away from the table and headed over to where Lily was sitting. He didn't want to interrupt her, so he simply walked up and sat in the space across from her, waiting for an acknowledgement.
