Though he truly was a bit awkward by nature, there were few things that truly made Remus uncomfortable. Unfortunately, he’d encountered quite a few of them all at the same time, which had made him a bit disoriented and left him unable to keep his discomfort from showing. Thankfully, the uncomfortable side-effects of the full moon were lingering only slight now (and only when he moved in awkward ways). However, his general discomfort with death had sandwiched the overwhelming concern he felt over lying to Peter and Sirius. Topping it all off with the reminder of the fact that he couldn’t give Lily anything better than an old, shabby book for her birthday hadn’t helped.
He’d wandered down to the Great Hall to grab a bit of breakfast after setting his gift beside Molly’s, picking up a few books from the library as well before he made his way back up to the dormitory. He hadn’t yet seen that this was a planned meeting, however, and instantly felt that overwhelming sense of awkwardness as he entered the room. His eyebrows shot up a bit as he glanced at James, assuming that he’d meant this to be when they’d tell the other two about Dumbledore’s plans. He felt a bit of relief at the prospect.
He’d settled on his bed when Sirius entered and he glanced up to offer his greeting with a bit of a curious nod, not wanting to say anything until he was sure that this was what he’d thought it was.
