Who: Kings & Mellie Why: They don't get enough playtime! Where: Ravenclaw When: Sunday morning Rating: Likely low
When Dumbledore announced there would be no quidditch, Kingsley thought he was going to explode. The first few days had been torture, but now the pain had dulled a bit. He wasn't so angry all the time, although he wasn't always joyful either. The castle's atmosphere was a bit sombre, and Kingsley was slipping towards that. The one date he'd had with Rora had improved his mood, and so had recreation time. It wasn't the same, but it was helping. Having the Aurors at school was a good thing for Kingsley, because it opened his eyes to a job he knew little about. In fact, his back-up job was quickly becoming an Auror. He had the grades for it, and it could be interesting. Kings would never be trapped from danger if he was an Auror, he'd be chasing it! The more he thought about it, the more exciting it sounded.
Another thing that was attacking Kingsley's mood was Hestia. He knew he should be over her, but he wasn't. She would always be his friend, and that meant Kingsley would always feel protective of her. For some reason, he also felt a bit guilty going out with Rora because of Hestia. They'd long ago determined things would never work between each other, but neither had done anything significant since. Did that mean there was still something there? Oi, girls were so complicated. What Kingsley didn't understand, was that he constantly offered his help, and the second Mr. Ryland Potter offered his, Hestia jumped at the chance. What was so special about a teaching assistant?
Coming down the stairs, Kingsley entered the common room. It was a pleasant Sunday morning, and he was surprised there were so few people. Scanning, he saw a few younger years, and Amelia Bones. Crossing the common room, Kingsley walked to the group of chairs Amelia was sitting in. "Hey Mellie, what have you been up to?" Kingsley asked, as he climbed over a chair and sat down. "Don't see much of you without practice. You're quite the busy girl, no?" Since quidditch, Kingsley had been doing a lot of patrolling the common room. He wasn't sure what else to do with his time.
