The accusations were enough to make Amelia glower while she attempted to stay still by James. She knew very well that Sirius was a necessary evil. He was the worst part of it all, but she could get over it because in the end, she was still much more intelligent than he was. And nicer, and prettier, and the list went on and on until she could stand to ignore him again. Honestly, once, Sirius had hit on her after a party when he'd been drunk and into some other girl the entire night and Mel just hadn't been able to stand him afterward. She honestly wanted nothing more to do with him.
"I don't know who has replaced your brain with a peanut," she turned to look at Sirius, eyebrows raised, "but if James drinks beer he's going to further injure himself and I don't trust you not to stop him from doing something idiotic." She gave James another once over, trying another spell just in case it helped with the rest of his remaining injuries, but placed her wand away moments later, a little defeated. Between her worry and her overwhelming lack of knowledge concerning healing spells (which was, amusingly, a great deal more than most of the school knew in the first place), Amelia had stressed herself out enough for her wand to refuse to cooperate. It didn't help that Sirius Black was now making accusations about things he didn't know anything about.
With a steady glare, she struggled to keep her tongue from biting too much, as she knew James would only put up with so much of her, despite his best friend's madness. "We talk often enough. You're a dumbass, James and I have been friends for years. You've just been wagging your tongue at all the other girls long enough to fail to notice me." Pausing at the next question, she stared at him again and then looked at James, almost unable to compute and reply. "If I had a crush on James Potter, I'd have asked him to go already. Which I haven't because I do not have a crush on James Potter." The only bloke she'd ever actually fancied had been an exboyfriend of Hestia's and she wasn't about to touch that. Amelia had escorted James back to Gryffindor, but she still had yet to find out what had really gone on with all the fighting.
