Sirius was confused at James. Why wasn't he laughing? Why wasn't he cracking jokes and being playful? Instead he was being somber and very much like Remus. Crossing his arms, Sirius watched the dialog between Amelia and James. Sirius was slowly picking up that Amelia was ignoring him. Especially since he'd asked her a direct question, and she didn't even acknowledge it. Being ignored and disliked was something Sirius hated, and the most he picked up on it, the more it bothered him. What had he done to Amelia? Thinking hard, Sirius couldn't remember. The only tiny thing was that he'd gotten into a row with Torin, who was on her quidditch team. Other than that, Sirius came up short. Oi, birds!
As Sirius began to pay more and more attention to Amelia and James, his eyes widened. Was this? No... it... "Oi!" Sirius said, a bit loudly. Jumping out of his chair, Sirius stood close to Amelia, but off centre so he was still beside James. "What's going on here? Since when are you two so close?" Sirius looked at Amelia, but spoke to his friends. "Pr---James, what haven't you been telling me?" There was no way Sirius was about to fetch chocolate when his best mate was flirting with someone who wasn't Lily. Something was not right.
In truth, Sirius felt a bit betrayed. If James was talking to Amelia so much she'd have no one to talk to, why hadn't he known? Why had James been keeping something like this from Sirius? Whenever he got the chance, Sirius told James every little thing that had happened to him.
