Who: Cassandra & Paul
Where: The infirmary
When: Like, 4am or something
What: Cass wakes up. Dramallama.
Rating: Meh-ish
Cassandra had been sleeping for quite some time. Her injuries had been fairly extensive, for the rocks and boulders had been massive. Cass had never been a tiny girl, but she had never been large either. Her body was no match for pelting rocks. As such, nearly every bone in her body had some damage, whether it was bruising or a break. Madame Pomfrey had induced a coma into Cassandra out of shear pity. The Slytherin was in immense amounts of pain, and could only take so much pain killer. However, Pomfrey was not expecting Cassandra's spirits to be so conflicted. Cass wanted to wake up, she didn't deserve to sleep. She deserved to be in pain, like Paul had been before he died. Being asleep was safe, and Cassandra's subconscious had betrayed her. The same part which had 'blamed' her was now waking her up.
With a moan, Cassandra stirred. It was the first time she moved significantly in hours. Slowly, her eyes opened. She wasn't crying, but they bulged when she realized where she was. How could she be here? Blinking quickly, it slowly came back to Cass. She hadn't married Paul, it had been a dream. Just a dream. Still, Cass felt dread and fear that Paul was no where to be found. When she tried to shift, pain shot through Cassandra so badly she screamed. She hadn't been expecting that. They were magic, why wasn't she pumped full of pain killer? Of course, Cassandra would never understand the lack of need for painkiller when a patient was in a coma. Why would Pomfrey give painkiller to a patient who was resting peacefully?
The room was dark, and Cassandra was a bit scared. No one seemed to be moving towards her - would she have to deal with this pain all night? Cassandra bit down on her bottom lip, hoping to use that as a distraction. Closing her eyes, she counted to ten. Nothing, still no one. "Hello...?" she called. She could hear something, and her eyes instantly moved to her right. A shape, a human. Maybe she hadn't screamed out loud, wouldn't that person have heard her? Squinting, Cassandra slowly realized it was Paul. "Paul!" she cried, happier than usual. Of course, her happiness caused her to move, which caused her to scream again. It didn't matter if she screamed before or not, because this time she knew she did.
