Aurea had always liked Amelia. She wouldn't ever admit it, but she had a small crush on the girl back when Aurea first realized that boys just weren't for her. That had eventually been abandoned because of inconvenience and the fact that Amelia obviously wasn't interested. Which was fine with Aurea. They were close friends in a way that Aurea didn't really have with girls outside her house. It was possible that Aurea was her most feminine around Amelia - which was laughable because Amelia wasn't the entirely girly type.
"It's fine," Aurea said with a laugh as she hugged Amelia back. "I'm so high right now I can't feel anything. No, no, I'm joking." She added the last with upraised hands. She flopped down on the bench behind her and started gathering up the thin layer of snow that was accumulating on the wood into a golf ball sized wad.
"So, you've obviously had something on your mind for a while. Is it God-Save-the-Queen top secret or do you want to talk about it?"
