Who: Paulie and Cassandra What: The most ridiculously simply and adorable date ever to take place on school grounds. Where: That fun glass hallway! When: Nightfaaaall. Rating: Oh, that will depend mostly on her. He's pretty calm, even when he's ridiculous.
The very idea of taking Cassandra out on a real date was one that Paulie had mulled over for years. He occasionally was able to plan and convince her to spend bits of alone time with him under the pretext of a date, but the restrictions the school imposed (especially now) made it impossible for him to offer what she truly deserved. He wanted to be able to take her to amazing places for fancy dinners and nights at the ballet, like the proper girls liked so much. Unfortunately, he simply couldn’t.
So, instead, he’d had to settle for what he could come up with on the school grounds. This, for Paulie, meant an excessive amount of cuteness rolled up into something simple, but meaningful. If nothing else, he just wanted to reaffirm how much he adored her. He firmly believed that every girl deserved to be treated like she was the light of someone’s life... Cass was the light of his.
Paulie frowned a little, fidgeting as he observed his handiwork. It wasn’t much, and definitely wasn’t nearly what Cassandra deserved, but he’d tried. He’d settled on the pretty glass hallway, which was nice given how clear the sky was as night began to fall. He’d spread out a blanket, following the ideas he’d gotten from some muggle books about picnics. The basket of food he’d brought wasn’t anything like what she was accustomed to, but he’d actually made all of the sandwiches himself in the kitchen.
He had pumpkin juice, water, and even some firewhiskey he’d somehow managed to acquire. There were cookies and fruits and little things that the elves had shoved on him and in the center of the blanket he’d stuck more flowers in a vase for her. He chewed on his lip as he looked at what he’d set up before sighing and nodding, convincing himself that there was nothing more and that he couldn’t afford to be late.
He’d dressed himself simply, but had tried a little harder to look nice for her. His white shirt was a bit more loose and casual than most boys wore and he’d paired it black pants. He’d even smoothed his usually rather unruly hair, though it had gotten mussed with his anxious running of his fingers through it.
This ‘unrequited love’ business was hard when it came to wooing a girl with no interest in settling down. But it was worth it!
He made his way quickly towards Slytherin once he’d decided that it was time, waiting contently outside for her to emerge and join him.
