A dark rumour has begun to make its way through the halls of Hogwarts, whispering the name of a new and talented wizard rising to power. At first, it was easy for students to brush it off; nothing more than gossip passing through. But now there are a few 7th year students who claim to be followers of a Dark Master, one who will rise to power and take over the Wizarding community. More importantly, they're looking for new members to recruit, whether you want to be recruited or not.

| What if someone could take out Voldemort before he got too powerful? What if things in the Wizarding World happened totally differently because someone changed it all? Someone who was completely shattered because of all of the deaths that occurred over the years -- thanks to The Dark Lord and his followers. Losing someone close to you can make you do things without thinking.
A group of people went back in time and searched out the Horcruxes and destroyed them. There was a face-off between Voldemort and Dumbledore and Dumbledore was successful. Voldemort was now dead before he could kill James and Lily and before he could scar Harry and transfer his powers to him. Dorcas and Marlene were never killed, The Longbottoms never tortured, and all who died in the Hogwarts battle were now alive, well, and living their lives out.
The few followers Voldemort had were devastated to see their Master gone, but word spread quickly among that circle about Voldemort’s true parentage. They faded into the shadows, resumed normal life, and time went on. One supporter however, took this news with a different approach. He used Voldemort’s defeat to his advantage. He used his defeat to make himself more powerful. He’s been acquiring supporters over the years, and has been meticulously planning the time when he can take the Wizarding World by storm with these supporters. If you thought Voldemort was bad, you’ll think Weiland Mulciber is worse. Things are about to get crazy.
There have been four murders so far, with very little to go on. People are making a move into the Ministry that never seemed interested before. A girl, Amelia Potter, has gone missing after a Hogsmeade trip and there's excitement in the air: Hogwarts is having a Quad-Wizard tourny. One witch or wizard from each house competes against the others.

Remember the good old days? Back when RP’s were simple, e-mail based correspondence with no graphics or PB’s? When the mod might occasionally post a shoddy looking drawing, or a scanned in map, but you didn’t care because the game was all about the posting? Do you miss those days?
Welcome to Syncopation - an original character supernatural RPG of the ‘no frills’ variety. We (two veteran RP’ers coming out of a brief retirement) have established a basic premise - an unspecified city where not everyone ticks the ‘human’ box on a rental application - and we need you, the dedicated RP’er to fill it with your characters, not to mention your unbridled imagination.

The year is 2200 and New York City is one of five major cities that has survived since the epidemic that wiped out the majority of the United States, however, one would never know that outside the shining city, there is only ruins and miles of desolate terrain. In the mid Twenty First Century Biological Warfare was on the rise and as a result a plague was released, which spread through, not only the air, but the water as well. Within days half of the world’s population was wiped out, but five US cities built shelters, which housed a large number of the remaining population. When they emerge, only those who had been lucky enough to get into the shelters remained.
This resulted in a new beginning.
The remaining cities; Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago and Boston often compete with one another, which has led Novus Initium, the new government of New York, to begin taking people they deem interesting from various works of fiction and integrating them into the city. Some were chosen primarily for their various skills; be that defense, business, art, etc. Everyone has a place there.
Novus Initium are waiting to welcome all newcomers to Ellis Island. All new arrivals are tested for strength, speed and general knowledge. Upon arrival they will find that a chip has been inserted into their forearm for tracking purposes. Novus Initium will also gift each newcomer with a state of the art smart phone before being sent to begin their lives in Novus. While it seems friendly enough, what lurks on the outside might not be as welcoming.
